Hikikomorisake
Hikikomorisake
Hikikomorisake is a short, minimalist text-based game about isolation, routine, and the quiet weight of existing inside your own head.
The game was created under self-imposed one-day game jam–like constraints. Not because it had to be fast—but because it had to be finished. The goal was simple: say something real, make something complete, and then move forward.
There are no complex mechanics. No power fantasies. No hand-holding.
Just words, choices, and the space between them.
You move through fragments of thought, repetition, and small decisions that may or may not matter. Progress is subtle. Meaning is indirect. If you’re looking for action, you won’t find it here. If you’re looking for atmosphere, introspection, or recognition—maybe you will.
This project exists as a statement and a stepping stone:
-
A proof that finishing matters more than polishing forever
-
A container for an idea that needed to exist
-
A deliberate end, so bigger and more complex games can begin
Hikikomorisake isn’t meant to impress.
It’s meant to be done—and honest.
Play it if you like on this URL for free: https://venera.space/
Hikikomorisake is intentionally small and self-contained — but it’s not closed.
I’m currently open to releasing the game files under the MIT License in a few months, so anyone can:
-
study the structure
-
modify the text or logic
-
expand the game in their own direction
-
release their own versions or forks
No permission needed. No gatekeeping.
If you want to build on it, remix it, or turn it into something bigger — go for it.
Credit is appreciated, but the point is freedom.
This game is finished as my statement.
What others do with it is part of the experiment.
